Sigma Ratings Inc. announced today that Robert "Bob" Werner, former U.S. Department of Treasury official and global compliance executive has joined Sigma Ratings as a senior advisor.

Mr. Werner has served at the forefront of regulatory change in top leadership positions in both government and the private sector throughout his 30-year career. While at Treasury, he served in prominent roles such as Director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Senior Counselor to the Under Secretary of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. In the private sector, he was most recently the Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance at HSBC, responsible for driving major changes in the bank's risk posture and financial crime compliance.

"More than ever, executive management, investors and shareholders are looking for real evidence of robust financial crime compliance," said Werner. "In my view, Sigma Ratings is uniquely positioned to help drive this change and create a more accessible and dynamic risk view through its business integrity ratings and proprietary data platform. I am excited to help the team expand its offerings and coverage during this time of growth."

In addition to top leadership positions in government and financial institutions, Robert is an accomplished attorney with federal and state-level experience in legislation, prosecution, and advisory services. His advice is regularly sought by global financial institutions, asset managers and government.

"Bob's unparalleled expertise leading both global organizations and enforcement bodies makes him an invaluable asset to Sigma's global expansion efforts," said Sigma Ratings Chief Executive Officer Stuart Jones, Jr. "Having seen the evolution of the compliance landscape through multiple positions and markets, I can't think of anyone with a more expansive and holistic view. We are very excited about what's to come and to have Bob onboard."

Robert Werner's appointment adds to Sigma Ratings' growing list of leading experts in the field of governance and financial crime compliance. He will advise Sigma Ratings' executive team on product development, market expansion and in further building out its senior advisory board during a time of rapid expansion and client delivery across five continents.

Sigma Ratings is uniquely positioned to help drive this change and create a more accessible and dynamic risk view through its business integrity ratings and proprietary data platform.
